National Grid Partners Green New Year’s Resolutions

green energy landscape

Last year saw an increasing number of countries and companies aligning on climate change goals. From the Inflation Reduction Act in the US, to the groundbreaking agreements at COP28 around replacing fossil fuels with renewables, there's more optimism than ever as we move into 2024.

National Grid Partners is dedicated not only to helping our parent company achieve its net zero goals, but also to paving the way broadly for utilities and others in the energy sector to embrace technologies that enable the clean-energy transition. National Grid Partners' leadership team is committed to this in all aspects of their lives -- at work and at home. As we celebrate the International Day of Clean Energy, our leaders shared some of their top green New Year’s goals:

Daniel White

Dan White, Director, Business Development“Re-insulate my house to make it even more energy efficient.”

Andre Turenne

Andre Turenne, Vice President, Investment“Dedicate more days helping local Half Moon Bay organizations that clean up our beaches. This is very rewarding work that makes an impact on our environment.”

Gerard Kelley

Gerard Kelly, Vice President, Innovation and Venture Acceleration“Reduce ‘vampire’ energy usage (such as unplugging laptops etc. when not in use) and turning the thermostat on my home boiler down a few degrees. I’ve also started teaching my kids (ages 2 and 4) about recycling!”

Swati Dasgupta

Swati Dasgupta, Director, Venture Acceleration and Head of the NextGrid Alliance “Expand renewables and electrification in my new home: Add solar, and electrify cooking and heating as much as possible.”

Brett Chandler

Brett Chandler, Vice President, Business Development  “Engage my two young children on the importance of a healthy Earth and help them understand why it’s important. We’ve started with small things, like going for walks around the neighborhood to pick up any litter we see, and it’s taken hold! Beyond doing our part as a family to be mindful of the impact our choices have on our climate, educating our children and engaging them early will hopefully influence them as they grow up and start making decisions on their own.”

 Kristian Bodek

Kristian Bodek, Director, Investment “Invest in and partner with startups that help National Grid connect renewable generation faster. And, personally, to master my new induction cooktop.”

Corporations in the past have too often paid lip-service to climate change, which is why our team is committed to walking the talk. Not every green resolution will make a big impact on its own -- but we believe they’re invaluable to set an example for our communities, drive demand for climate-friendly technologies, and inspire others to join the energy transition.
